"If You Want Peace, Work For Justice," Pope Paul VI

One sign that the life of the Gospel message is alive in the life of a parish is reflected in the quality of the social concerns and social justice ministries of the parish.

St. Joseph Cathedral is seeking individuals who are willing to help empower others in our parish through prayer, education, direct service, and advocacy in order that we may respond more fully to the social justice and social concerns of our community.

The Social Concerns Committee of St. Joseph Cathedral is guided by the Social Teachings of the Catholic Church, the key themes of which include: Life and dignity of the human person; call to family, community, and participation; Rights and responsibilities; Options for the poor and vulnerable; The dignity of work and the rights of workers; Solidarity; and Care for God's Creation.  Acting as a catalyst for change, the Social Concerns Committee serves to empower parishioners to live out their baptismal call to love and serve one another and to work for justice.
