4. Parish Profile: The Cathedral Parish Council
![]()
The
Cathedral Parish Council is comprised of members of the Cathedral who
represent the parishioners; representatives of the various Cathedral
organizations; Deacon Tom Johnston and Deacon Jim Gorski; and the Rector,
Father Mike Gribble.
The Parish Council meets in the Undercroft on
the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 P.M. All parishioners are welcome to
attend our meetings.
Elections were recently held. Executive officers are: the re-elected Parish Council President, Dotti Buscemi; Xavier Harrison returns as the Vice President and Ted Mulligan returns as the Parish Council Secretary. The agendas of meetings include reports from the following: Standing Committees, Deacon Tom and Deacon Jim, the Parish Council President and representatives of parish organizations. Also, Father Gribble gives a report at each meeting concerning parish projects. The Cathedral is made up of parishioners from all over the Columbus area. Because of this, one of the goals of the Council is to help parishioners become better acquainted and develop a sense of community. The Council hosts two social events each year: a parish picnic, chaired this year by Madeline Miller and a spaghetti dinner, chaired by Judy Bateman. Also a social hour following the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass is the responsibility of the Hospitality Committee chaired by Mike Berry. This committee also plans receptions for Cathedral events. A project, the Parish Directory, was suggested by Barbara Garick in early 2001 and well received by Council Members. She chaired the committee, which undertook and completed this project. On January 7, 2003 the Cathedral Parish Council revised their Constitution. Any registered member of the Cathedral Parish is eligible to join the Parish Council. Please visit the Parish Council webpage located at http://www.saintjosephcathedral.org/sitemap/organizations/parishcouncil/parishcouncil.htm. There is also a link to display the names of the Parish Council members in the above picture. TO UNSUBSCRIBE OR CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS: You
