Parish Picnic a Success!
The Parish Picnic was a total success! God blessed us with good
weather to enjoy our day. There was great food, fun, (even bubbles), music
and conversation. Father Mike and the Cathedral Staff wish to thank
everyone for working so hard to make this social event a joyous one.
Let’s look forward to planning and participating in next year’s picnic.

Inquiry Sessions Begin for R.C.I.A.
If you
are not a member of the Roman Catholic Faith but would like to know more
about Catholicism or maybe you would like to explore the possibility of
becoming Catholic, join the R.C.I.A. team in the undercroft after the
10:30 AM Mass on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each
month. The period of
inquiry is a perfect time to ask questions about what it means to be
Catholic and to discover Church teachings as well as finding out what the
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) is all about.
Nominations for the 2002 Catholic Woman of the
Year
It is time once again to honor the Catholic Women of the Columbus Diocese
by nominating and selecting the Catholic Woman of the Year. The
award is presented to a woman, who out of love for God and all His people
gives unselfishly to family, parish and community. More than one
woman may be nominated from a parish. The award will be presented on
August 25, 2002, at the Berwick Party House, 3250 Refugee Road. Dinner
will be served at 5:00 p.m., with the Most Reverend Bishop James A.
Griffin honoring the nominees. Cost per person is $15.00. (It is
customary for the nominee to have her dinner paid for by her parish or the
person who nominated her). Nomination forms will be on a table in
the Cathedral Narthex. The nominations must be postmarked no later
than July 31, 2002. For further information please contact Meg Morris at
the DCCW office: 614-228-8601.

households, 46 bags of groceries, and 110 people. Some of these deliveries
are in the same area or complex. Food is packed and picked up at St.

We Need Your
Help
PLEASE DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO THE STREET PEDDLERS
loitering on the steps and the back alley of the Cathedral before and after
Mass! Giving money to the peddles is a very dangerous situation that
entices them to return, but is a problem for those who work at the Cathedral
Square on a regular basis. Not only does the Cathedral, but services in
the immediate area provide food, clothing, housing, and advice for job
allocation to these people. This page was last updated on:
