Dan Reichard Biography
Born September 1921, of deaf parents and The Great Generation, graduated
high school in 1941 and immediately enlisted in the Navy
in World War II. He participated as first ashore in five major invasions
in both Europe and Pacific theaters of war, including Sicily, Normandy,
Philippines, Okinawa, and the occupation of Hiroshima. Attended Miami
University of Ohio, became a convert to Catholicism, married, and father
of six children. After the death of his first wife he married Sharon and
they share twenty-two grandchildren. Dan co-founded two companies, the
second still exists which he retired from in 1995. His business took him
into every state and three hundred largest cities in the US and Asia. He
still frequently travels for his former company. He was recently entered
in the Hall of Fame for the American Public Transportation Association, in
Washington, DC. Dan loves sailing his sail boat in New Jersey, his hobby
was painting portraits. |

Sharon McCloy-Reichard Biography
Sharon McCloy-Reichard, upon retiring in 2010 from the City of
Grove City, was immediately drafted to be Director of CHOICES for
Victims of Domestic Violence because of her many years of experience
as the developer and Director of the Ohio Violence Prevention Center
in the Office of Criminal Justice Services. She accepted the
appointment to pursue her passion and enthusiasm as a visionary to
elevate the recognition of this nonprofit agency. Sharon has a long
list of accomplishments in politics and leadership positions in both
the public and private sector. Her service includes Reynoldsburg City
Council, the COTA Board of Trustees, the Mid Ohio Regional Planning
Commission (MORPC) where she served as chairman, the Franklin County
Mental Health Board (ADAMH) where she served as chairman, the
Community Shelter Board, and the Board of the Justice League of Ohio
which she helped develop and served as chairman.
After raising two children, Sharon decided to pursue her desire to
complete a college education. She attended Capital University and earned a
triple major in Criminology, Psychology, and Sociology wherein she
graduated Suma Cum Laude and then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in
psychology. She has been published in the criminal justice field and has
received recognitions including the William H. Anderson Excellence in
Public Service Award, the Doctor’s Hospital Golden Achievement Award for
Government, and the Red Ribbon Award of Excellence in drug prevention and
education, to name a few. Sharon and her husband Dan were married at St.
Joseph Cathedral in 1990. Both have served as ministers, servers and
readers, in all the years since. Between them they have eight children and
twenty two grandchildren.
